"Montalcino is a small Tuscan hill village south of Sienna where the great Brunello di Montalcino is produced. The Barolo grape variety is in fact a clone of the classic grape variety of Tuscany the Sangiovese and is known as the Sangiovese Grosso. My Brunello di Montalcino is a single vineyard produced by Giovanni Ciacci and is kept in wood for 4 years and then an additional 6 months in bottle before releasing to the wine trade. Most experts agree that Brunello di Montalcino is the finest red wine of Italy and indeed one of the great red wines of the world. If properly stored it can be enjoyed up to 50 years after its birth. Velvet to the taste with a deep rich texture, this wonderful wine should be decanted 24 hours before serving at 66 degrees." -Winery
