Equipo Navazos Manzanilla Pasada #120 Botas Palomino from Spain
#145384 500 mL
Equipo Navazos Manzanilla Pasada #120 Botas
97+ Luis Gutierrez - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The NV La Bota de Manzanilla Pasada 120 Botas NO is the most recent bottling of this mythical wine, in this case the result of combining the “Bota Punta” with two outstanding casks of the 1/15 solera. This is an extraordinary Manzanilla of character, complexity and depth, with 14 years of average age, matured under flor for 10 years (and in a more oxidative way the last four to five years) in topped-up barrels. So, it's a little in the way of turning into an Amontillado but keeping the biological and saline character of the Manzanilla. I tasted from an opened bottle, and the wine had closed down and took some time to open up. The nose is impressive, for the first time with some Amontillado hints, mainly hazelnuts and a little varnish. It has concentration and depth, persistence and pungency. It's approachable and has the stuffing and balance to age nicely. 3,000 half-liter bottles produced. It was bottled in 2023.

2022 Domaine Marquis D'angerville Bourgogne Rouge Pinot Noir from France
#144438 750 mL
2022 Domaine Marquis D'angerville Bourgogne Rouge
86-89 Allen Meadows - Burghound
Pretty and attractively layered aromas include those of softly earthy red and dark pinot fruit. The delicious middleweight flavors possess both good verve and relatively fine tannins on the youthfully austere tension-filled finish. This is a very good Bourgogne and worth your interest.

2021 Vina Almaviva Puente Alto Magnum Blend from Chile
#137057 1.5L
2021 Vina Almaviva Puente Alto Magnum
98 James Suckling - Jamessuckling.com
A fresh and discreet Almaviva with subtle pencil shavings and cigar box to the cassis and hints of chili chocolate and peppermint. Nuanced and subtle on the nose. This is medium-bodied and subtle on the palate with silky tannins in the seamless finish. Very long. 71% cabernet sauvignon, 22% carmenere, 5% cabernet franc and 2% petit verdot. Drinkable now, but it will take its time to deliver complexity.

2022 Sylvain Cathiard Vosne Romanee Pinot Noir from France
#144142 750 mL
2022 Sylvain Cathiard Vosne Romanee
90-92 Neal Martin - Vinous Media
The 2022 Vosne-Romanée Village has a sensual bouquet with pure redcurrant and crushed strawberry fruit, just a touch of violet popping up with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied and well-balanced with rounded tannins. It’s a succulent Vosne-Romanée with a good body and a sustained finish. Recommended.
89-91 William Kelley - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Cathiard's 2022 Vosne-Romanée is lovely, wafting from the glass with aromas of wild berries, plums, spices, orange zest and peony. Medium to full-bodied, ample and seamless, it's more enveloping than the firmer, more overtly tannic Nuits-Saint-Georges, concluding with a perfumed finish.

87 Jasper Morris, MW - Inside Burgundy
Lighter ruby with a pinkish edge. A delicious fragrance, lighter cherry, with some raspberry topnotes. Plenty of energy here even though not massive, with a fine purity and then a slight tannin which will resolve. Maybe the inclusion of 20-25% whole bunches just helps to liven it up. Drink from 2025-2027.

2014 Philipponnat Extra Brut Clos Des Goisses Grand Cru Blend from France
#138632 750 mL
2014 Philipponnat Extra Brut Clos Des Goisses Grand Cru
93 Antonio Galloni - Vinous
The 2014 Extra Brut Clos des Goisses is soft, open-knit and quite gracious. Readers will find a relatively accessible Goisses that will drink well with minimal cellaring. All the Goisses signatures are present, but they are dialed down. This cuvée typically shows more body, breadth and persistence, but those qualities were hard to come by in 2014. Hints of tangerine peel, marzipan, chamomile and spice linger. The blend is 71% Pinot Noir and 29% Chardonnay. Dosage is 4.5 grams per liter. Disgorged: March, 2023

2012 Giuseppe Quintarelli Alzero Magnum Cabernet Franc from Italy
#125457 1.5L
2012 Giuseppe Quintarelli Alzero Magnum
96 Monica Larner - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The Quintarelli Giuseppe 2012 Cabernet Alzero (packaged in a heavy glass bottle) is a stunning wine that delivers a level of cautious brawn, intensity and fruit weight that sets this wine apart within the portfolio. The blend is 40% Cabernet Franc, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot, and the grapes all undergo a few months of appassimento. I've been asked about possible perception of VA (volatile acidity) that can sometimes appear in wines made with air-dried fruit. As a much-respected Italian colleague once told me, "serve a dare spalla," ("it gives a shoulder to the wine"), and I can't help but admire the beautifully lifted and upright quality of the bouquet that appears especially radiant and buoyant in this wine. The magic, whatever it is, works.

2020 Chateau Cos D'estournel Blend from France
#138387 1.5L
2020 Chateau Cos D'estournel
97 Neal Martin - Vinous Media
The 2020 Cos d'Estournel, which was bottled in July, has lost some of the exoticism that it showed out of barrel. Within five minutes of aeration it develops a complex bouquet: black fruit laced with graphite and subtle cedar aromas, a charcoal back-note and later pressed iris flowers. I foresee this gaining more nuance with bottle age. The palate is taut, lean and precise. Lightly spiced on the entry, with finely-chiseled tannins, again, not quite as precocious as it showed in barrel, allowing the terroir to come through more. There is something almost understated about this vintage vis-à-vis others, razor-sharp precision with just the right amount of salinity on the finish. This is a classy offering that will mature beautifully in bottle. A keeper.

2022 Bodegas Y Vinedos Raul Perez Bierzo Godello Ultreia
93 Luis Gutierrez - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The white 2022 Ultreia Godello is a blend of five different plots, most of them in Cacabelos. It has a very expressive nose, with notes of yellow fruit, flowers and white pepper. It's round and fleshy, with moderate ripeness and alcohol (around 12.5%), a little balsamic with the tender mouthfeel from the riper year. It had different vinifications and élevages and comes through as complex and balanced, quite impressive for the year. 45,000 bottles produced.

2021 Domaine Jean Louis Chave Hermitage Blanc Blend from France
#140121 750 mL
2021 Domaine Jean Louis Chave Hermitage Blanc
95+ Jeb Dunnuck - jebdunnuck.com
Recently bottled, the 2021 Hermitage Blanc is a brilliant wine that shows a fresher, more mineral-driven style while still clearly being in the classic Jean-Louis concentrated, textured style. White currants, crushed citrus, flowers, green almond, and a kiss of reductive-like minerality all define the aromatics, and if you called this a great Grand Cru White Burgundy in a blind tasting, I wouldn't hold it against you. Medium to full-bodied, concentrated, and beautifully balanced, with a terrific salinity on the finish, it's going to benefit from a year or two of bottle age and I suspect evolve for 20-25 years.

2018 Fattoria Dei Barbi Brunello Di Montalcino Sangiovese from Italy
#135074 750 mL
2018 Fattoria Dei Barbi Brunello Di Montalcino
93 Monica Larner - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Packaged with its dark blue label, the 2018 Brunello di Montalcino displays a very specific character that I always recognize in this wine. The house style is a callout to local winemaking tradition in which there is a slightly wild side to the cherry fruit and forest floor aromas. The oak spice is smoothly integrated into the medium-weight texture, and there is earthy spice and root at the back. The wine closes with freshness, bitter plum and rusty metal. This is a 157,000-bottle release.

2021 Vieux Telegraphe Chateauneuf Du Pape Blanc La Crau
95 James Suckling - Jamessuckling.com
Stunningly complex nose of dried flowers, beeswax and candied citrus peel. However, the interplay of richness and freshness on the palate tops it. Extremely long finish where the fine tannins build and build at the salty climax. A cuvee based on clairette with grenache blanc, roussanne and a little bourboulenc. Some of the vines date back more than a century, but the majority are about 40-50 years old. Drink or hold.
93 Wine Advocate - Wine Advocate
Bottled just one week before my 2022 visit, the 2021 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc was showing no ill effects then and confirmed its quality when I retasted it in June 2023. Effusive notes of citrus, white peach and pineapple burst from the glass, while in the mouth, the wine is medium to full-bodied, plump and rounded, with a silky feel and a charming note of fennel on the lingering, refreshing finish. Tasted twice, with consistent notes.

"Starts off with pretty notes of mirabelle plum and apple blossoms before turning firmly structured and savory on the palate, which is headlined by a pronounced saline streak, while orchard fruit and tangy lemon details add texture. Shows yeasty hints on the dry, smoke-laced finish". Drink now through 2028.
