That’s right shams, time to head to the local and prepare to get gee-eyed at a hooley; St. Patty’s Day is near! But what if you think green beer is simply bollocks? We know the pain, and we’re here to help. We’ve highlighted the top wines to accompany you throughout your day of debauchery.

2012 Tintonegro Limestone Block Malbec

St. Patrick is one of Ireland’s foremost Saints, and the Blarney Stone is one of Ireland’s foremost historic sites. The Stone is made of carboniferous limestone, the perfect companion to a wine that’s been forged from limestone-rich soil 4,000 feet up in the rolling Argentinian hills. Inky, almost purple in hue, this Malbec features aromatic acacia flowers and blackberries. Don’t be a mentaller, go get this wine.

2012 Newton Unfiltered Chardonnay

On a holiday such as this, many often find that as the day progresses their inhibitions are loosened, dare I say they become more … unfiltered!? Pair an unfiltered wine with an unfiltered attitude and you get this non-traditional Chardonnay. Melon, fig, and baked (green) apples will pair nicely with some corned beef and hash.

2014 Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc

You can’t leave the house on St. Patty’s Day and not be wearing green, so make sure you hit the town in head to toe green with this Sauv Blanc. A tangy spice on the nose is followed soon after by lively gooseberry and freshly cut grass, and the green label is a nice bonus. This wine will make the perfect companion with any foods you may find yourself devouring on the Day of Feasts.

2012 Owen Roe Corvidae Mirth Chardonnay

The name Owen is derived from the Irish word meaning “born of the yew tree”. Some symbolic meanings of the yew include the words mystery, longevity, and introspection. Featuring grapes sourced from various sites in the Yakima Valley, this wine has a balanced, long-lasting finish that’s sure to make you think long and hard about everything you think you know about Chardonnays.

Now pull your socks up, get ready for some shenanigans, and prepare to be stocious for what's sure to be a rousing good time … Happy St. Patty’s Day!
