With Memorial day behind us, it’s now legal in the USA to begin observance of beach season. Ok we’re kind of kidding, you were totally allowed to hit the beach last week, too, but now it’s uncomfortably hot in the Tri-State area so you kind of have to go in order to keep your brain from overheating.

So what wine do you bring with you to sip while you ponder the surf? Great question. Here are some options:

2014 Josep Foraster Trepat Rose

First things first: Drink pink. It’s no coincidence that most of the great Rose-producing regions are somewhere in the vicinity of the Mediterranean. This is a wine with coastal origins and beach-side aspirations. It’ll go great with the watermelon you brought, and even better with the bag of chips you’ll inhale afterwards.

2013 Peter Lehmann Layers White

Those of you looking for a more aromatic experience should take a look at the 2013 Layers white blend from Peter Lehmann. Basically they concocted their own non-standard blend in order to be as pretty as possible in the fragrance department. This will absolutely crush it with oysters or grilled fish!

2012 Cadia Chardonnay Igt

Having a beach party? Can we come? If we did, we’d totally bring a few cases of the 2012 Cadia. Never had an Italian Chardonnay? Nice! This Chard is a straight-shooter with notes of apple, honey, white flowers, and a refreshing acidity. At only $9.99/bottle you can always snag a few cases and not worry about breaking the bank! So what do you say about that beach party?
