It’s the most, wonderful time, of the yearrrrrrr. That’s right, folks, Santa came early and gave us the heavyweight bout that we’ve been chomping at the bit for. The reigning NBA MVP, Steph Curry, is squaring off with 4-time NBA MVP, LeBron James. Hollywood couldn’t have scripted it better, especially since I’m currently living in the Bay Area and get to experience all of the madness firsthand. So whether you’re using Incognito Mode at work or comfortably relaxing in someone’s man-cave, grab a bottle of vino and get ready for tipoff.

Cleveland Fans

2010 Bello Family Marsanne

If you buy this wine, be ready to go all in or get the hell out of the way. Even our very own Gary V. noted, “When you can buy under $20 white wine of this quality - you need to attack," and we expect you to attack this thing like LeBron driving to the rim for the sole purpose of making opponents look silly. Pear, honeysuckle, and apricot are a tomahawk slam dunk, and much like LeBron I’d expect this thing to be solid for at least another decade.

2005 Marques Del Puerto Bentus Rioja

If the point guard position could be summed up as a single bottle of wine, it’d be this beauty. It’s the perfect balance of elegance and body, dipsey-doing all the way down your throat. Leather and pepper with vanilla and dried fruits will undoubtedly make you wonder, How’d this wine do that?

2012 Pull Eighty Pinot Noir

Brace yourself, because this wine will punch your tastebuds like a J.R. Smith spinning backhand TO THE FACE. This particular bottle was born from a banner grape growing year, you could even say these grapes got lucky to be a part of this team during this exact year (as a Knicks fan, I’m bitter about J.R.). Ripe cherry and plum accompany an all-star palate. Let’s just hope this bottle makes it past the first quarter.

Golden State Fans

2012 Route Du Van Pinot Noir

Watch your ankles because this Pinot Noir is smoooooth. Nothing’s standing in the way of its earthy tannins and tart acidity which both bring a relaxing, effortless deliciousness. This wine put in a ton of hard work to become as delectable as it is, but it has a certain way of making it look so ... damn ... easy.

2012 Le Meurger Bourgogne Blanc

This is an excellent Chardonnay that boasts fruity flavors with light oak. Vibrant minerality shares the spotlight with aromas of citrus. You’ll find a slight vanilla nuttiness, almost as nutty as how high Klay Thompson can get when he so chooses.

2010 Govone Cellar One Barbaresco

This bottle is a beautiful import that had stellar growing conditions. An earthy blackberry can be found on the palate with a balance and structure that’s good for drinking now and will continue to improve. A phenomenal Barbaresco for under $20? That might just be the play of the 2015 season, but don’t let Harrison Barnes hear you say that.
