Woo hoo! Labor Day Weekend is on its way. It's a holiday weekend that's always a bit bittersweet. The last long weekend of the summer, it's a time to bid adieu to beach vacations and sweltering heat, a time to transition into fall harvest and cooler weather. It just may be the last weekend for grillin' and swimmin'.

And you need the best wines to make it totally amazing.

1. Bold wines to say farewell to your barbecue

Fire up the grill: breakfast, lunch and dinner, all three days this long weekend. We've got the perfect wines to pair with everything. It's not goodbye grill, it's only, see you next year.

For grilled seafood, chicken and vegetables, try a Pinot Noir Rose. The 2014 Lazy Creek Rose of Pinot Noir is flavorful, fruit-forward and refreshing. Rose is extremely versatile.

For the meaty stuff, you need bold reds to match. Classic Cali Cab, for sure. One of our top picks all season has been the 2012 Shannon Ridge Home Ranch Cabernet. Great vintage. Great location. Great wine. Perfect for those grilled steaks.

And if you're doing sausages...you've got to do Riesling. The intense flavors and high acid of the 2014 Boundary Breaks No.239 Reserve Riesling, American-made and German-inspired, are sure to match up with any sausage: bratwurst, hot dog or otherwise.

2. Refreshing wines for the pool and porch

Grilling not your thing? Rather relax by the pool or on the porch? Then you'll need something bright and refreshing to carry you through summer's last hurrah weekend.

You can't go wrong with Sauvignon Blanc and summer sunshine! New Zealand seems to dominate the Sauvignon Blanc game these days. Well, move over! Because Labor Day celebrates the American workforce, we're going domestic for this porch sipper. The 2014 Justin Willett Lieu Dit Sauvignon Blanc is a beautiful white wine from the Santa Ynez Valley in California's Central Coast region. Antonio Galloni, in his 90-point Vinous review, agrees, this wine is "absolutely gorgeous."

For the "I drink red no matter what" wine drinker, Pinot Noir is a sure bet. The 2014 Inconceivable Pinot Noir "The Fog Prince," from Santa Barbara is more than you could ever dream of in a Pinot Noir: lush fruit and zesty freshness all wrapped up in a medium-bodied red.

Whether you're baking by the barbecue or lounging by the pool, we've got the top wines for your Labor Day holiday! Tell us how you celebrate summer's last hurrah!
