Last year, this was one of our biggest selling wines of the Spring. This year, we are into the spring season already and without a doubt, this is going to be our #1 Spring/Summer Chardonnay of the year!

It's a name that many of you already know very well. Buehler is one of the most popular producers in Napa and this offer, which is actually from the Russian River Valley, comes from two vineyards within the appellation. Once again, the 2014 vintage was spectacular and after you taste this, you will see exactly why we say the following each time we taste this ...
For the price, this is a simply amazing bottle of Chardonnay.
This is just $14.09 per bottle? --- Everything you would expect in a $25 package... for $14.09
As we have mentioned in the past, this is one of the best values in California Chardonnay. Period. It's hard to believe after tasting it for the first time ... but it's true. This is a classic Russian River Valley Chardonnay that drinks like many other $25+ bottles from this same region. We've seen a treasure trove of values coming from Spain, South America, Australia, and other areas ... but when it comes to California, steals in the $10-$15 price point can be a little more difficult to find. This is an example of one that really just should not be missed ... in fact, due to the large production here ... it's one that many of you might end up wishing you had found long before!

90 Points from the Wine Enthusiast and extra praise from the Wine Spectator!
Featured in the Wine Spectator article "12 Chardonnay Values from California"

The Wine Enthusiast raved with a 90 Point review remarking, "Searing acidity supports apple blossom and quince in this complex, light-bodied and entirely delightful wine. As it opens in the glass, it gets more velvety and tense, finishing on a refreshing bite of anise."

That's not all.

In December of last year, James Laube ranked the Buehler 2014 Russian River Valley Chardonnay as #2 on a list of 12 Chardonnay Values from California. He went on to note, "Pure and well-focused on complex pear, apple, honeydew and light spicy oak notes. An easy-to-enjoy style. Drink now."

Bottom line, this wine is always one of the top values in California. Think about how many bottles of Russian River Valley Chardonnay you see on the market for under $15. Now add in the reputation and overall incredible quality driven by Buehler year after year ... and you've got a no-brainer Spring and Summer Chardonnay.

The reality is, this is a Chardonnay you will love to drink all year long.

Behind the scenes: Buehler Vineyards
More about David Cronin, the winemaker for Buehler and what makes this vintage of Russian River Valley Chardonnay really tick.

David Cronin has been making wines with the Buehler family for the past 24 years. He previously has spent time working the harvest at Joseph Phelps and ended up making wine for Far Niente for several years.  His ability to make high quality wine, at an affordable price is really stunning in all the wines he makes.

Cronin on his 2014 Russian River Valley Chardonnay:

"Our 2014 Russian River Chardonnay is born from two vineyards within the Russian River appellation: Wood Vineyard, located on River Rd and River Vineyard, located in the heart of Sonoma’s Russian River Valley on East Side Road.

The floral, mineral, and lime aromas and steely structure of the River Vineyard are complemented by the peach and apricot aromas and more fleshy structure of the Wood Vineyard. Our winemaking philosophy remains the same since we first introduced the Russian River Chardonnay in 1993: less intervention is better in dealing with a delicate variety like chardonnay. Winemaking techniques including sur-lie aging, lees stirring, full malolactic fermentation, and the measureduse of some new French oak are employed to bring you this delicious rendition from Sonoma’s premier chardonnay appellation.

The 2014 vintage will be fondly remembered for its classic proportions and near perfect ripening season that began with ideal flowering and fruit set and then was coaxed to ripeness by a steady stream of moderate sun drenched days and cool foggy nights. The harvest began a full seven to ten days earlier than the 2013 harvest. Like 2013 the late light rains of the 2014 harvest season posed no threat to our crop since it was safely tucked away in the winery once they arrived. Balance and proportion best describe the character of our 2014 Russian River Chardonnay; it displays abundant floral/ stone fruit aromas lightly accented by toasty, graham cracker sur-lie qualities. The mouth feel is creamy and full but the natural acidity of the Russian River fruit carries this velvet textured package to a long, clean finish"
