Love Opus One? Joseph Phelps Insignia? Dominus? ... but hate to spend $150-$400 a bottle on top flight red blends from Napa Valley California? Then this is for you!

Alta is a fairly new winery to Napa Valley. Their first vintage was in 2009. Owner and winemaker, Fred Oliaim, prides himself on using not only his own small vineyard but sourcing from other small sustainable vineyards in the area.

The 2015 Quatreaux is a Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot that is full of flavor. Notes of dark cherry, blackberry, and currants. The wine has a decent amount of earth and spice to it as well. This is a very full bodied wine that also spends some time in oak which is where the lifted structure comes in.

This is a wine you could easily lay down and enjoy over the next ten years with out a problem, but don't be afraid to open one now.

A spectacular bottle for the price!

Readers of the Wine Advocate, Vinous Media and James Suckling will want to jump all over this as it just earned an outstanding score and is available today at a huge discount off the suggested list price!

"Pretty blackcurrants, cedar, mint, plum liqueur and some underbrush. Full-bodied with firm tannins, a lovely line of fresh acidity and a medium to long finish. Quite tight with tension. Needs time. Blend of 35% merlot, 38% cabernet sauvignon, 18% cabernet franc, 9% petit verdot. Drink in 2020." - 92 Points James Suckling

"A barrel sample blended of 38% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Franc and 9% Petit Verdot, the 2015 Proprietary Red Blend Quatreaux gives a very deep garnet-black color and is scented of blackberry preserves, crushed plums and wild blueberries with hints of bay leaves, menthol and chocolate box. Medium to full-bodied, the palate offers a solid backbone of chewy tannins and lively acid, structuring the juicy black fruit flavors and finishing on a minty note." - 90-92 Points Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

"The 2015 Quatreaux delivers serious flavor intensity in an approachable, mid-weight style that can be enjoyed pretty much upon release. Dark red cherry, plum, spice, menthol and licorice notes weave into the silky, inviting finish in this very nicely balanced red blend from Alta." - 91 Points Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media
