You might find yourself saying ... 90 Point Amarone?? For this price??

That's exactly what you get here!

"Aromas of toast, prune, dried earth, leather and a balsamic note emerge on this full-bodied wine. The structured palate delivers dried black cherry, mocha, tobacco and a touch of baking spice accompanied by a network of tightly woven tannins." - Wine Enthusiast

Amarone della Valpolicella - Get in the know
There is a reason great Amarone deals are hard to find...

Amarone della Valpolicella is the flagship, premium red wine of the Veneto region in northeastern Italy. It’s up there with things like Barolo and Brunello. From the Veneto region, Amarone is a blend of traditional varieties, mainly Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara, with the first predominating most blends.

Amarone, however, is a red wine like no other. Once the grapes are harvested, they are left to dry. Why start wine grapes on their journey to becoming raisins? It’s a brilliant solution. These red varieties, grown in the cool climate of northern Italy, at the foot of the Alps, tend to produce wines on the lighter side. In the drying process, the grapes lose water but keep all the delicious flavor. Thus, the juice becomes more concentrated, enhancing the gorgeous flavors that were there all along.

Today’s wine offer is from the original “Classico” zone of Amarone della Valpolicella. As in other Italian wine regions, you might have seen the Classico designation on a Chianti bottle. It refers to the original regional designation, the prime land originally designate to be Chianti or Amarone della Valpolicella. For Amarone della Valpolicella, that traditional region is close to the shores of Lake Garda, offering a beautiful moderating effect on the climate, so the grapes have just that much longer to hang on the vine before they hang out in boxes to dry.

The vineyard lands are ideal for Amarone wine production. Starting with great grapes gives this wine a certain advantage. The grapes then dry for four months, really concentrating that gorgeous flavor. Once the grapes are crushed and the wine finishes fermentation, the wine spends 12 months in French oak barrels. Thus, the resulting wine offers delicious, ripe purple plum notes (not to mention the color to match), plus dried fruits - raisins, figs, dates - and this intriguing sandalwood, exotic incense aroma.

This is a spectacular offer on a top flight Amarone! Grab it while it lasts!
