Saini is a small Sonoma estate where the wines are mainly available through the winery itself. The estate is founded on the partnership of two families:

  • -- The Saini family, who has been growing grapes in Sonoma for over 90 years, and
  • -- The Christie family, who has long worked in the wine industry

Two friends, George Christie and Mike Saini, combined their skills and passions, and in 2008, Saini Vineyards became reality.

Production at this friend-and-family-operated estate is minuscule by world-wine standards. They made less than 1,000 cases of this wine in 2013 and 2014, and only 400 cases in 2012.

Not only did Parker rave over this, remarking, "I think this is the first time I’ve had a good look at these wines, and I’m impressed", but our entire buying team flipped after tasting it.

So, what makes this a great red wine (especially for parties)?

1. It's delicious. Soft and silky on the palate, with bold, ripe fruit flavors, this is one full-bodied bottle of goodness.

2. It's a crowd-pleaser. The Saini Zinfandel is something everyone will love. You know everyone will show up at your door whether they have RSVP'd to the party or not.

3. It's affordable. At just $15.99, the Saini Zinfandel offers exceptional quality.

Bonus point: If/when your friends or family look up this wine to check out your taste, they find a 91-point score from Robert Parker:

"The 2014 Zinfandel Dry Creek has briary fruit, not quite the density of the 2013s, but beautiful berry fruit, especially raspberries and black cherries, medium to full body, and again, stunning purity. I think this is the first time I’ve had a good look at these wines, and I’m impressed. Drink this one over the next 5-6 years. It is likely to be shorter-lived than the 2013s." - Robert Parker

As “impressed” as Parker was with this wine, that’s how impressed you and your guests will be with this!
