Mark Squires - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"The 2012 Verdelho V, tank-fermented, is crisp and dry. This is a bottling from the winery that I’ve come to like a lot for warm-weather quaffing. It is not particularly concentrated, but it is typically a bit herbaceous, invigorating and refreshing – at a very nice price. So, too, this year. As it warms, it shows surprising tension on the finish. You can knock this back without guilt and enjoy every moment. In a lineup often filled with bargains, this is a consistent one from Esporao. The winery suggests that it can last usefully until, say, 2016. I’ll go along with that, but peak performance may be another issue. I don’t see any reason to wait. It won’t get any better and what it does best is be fresh and invigorating. It does have surprising grip on the finish as it warms, though. Drink now-2016."
