"Lots of new wood with a cream and apple pie character. Full body with dried pears, apples and papaya plus hints of milk. Medium finish. Very intense acidity here. Drink now."

The 2011 BRANCO “MUX” is principally Rabigato (90%) and an old vines field blend, aged in a mixture of tank (70%) and 600L oak barrels (30%). This tends to be beautifully balanced, elegant but persistent. So, too, this year. Clean, crisp and focused, with a nuance of grassiness, this is both delicious and interesting. It has surprising grip on the finish, the capacity to hold a few years and good fruit flavor supported by its structure. In its youth, it is absolutely charming, but it should be fine down the road a bit, too. I have found that holding it a year or two allows it to become more expressive. Drink now-2017.
