"The 2011 Private Selection white is a blend of AntAo Vaz and Semillon, coming in at 14.5% alcohol, fermented and then aged in new French oak for six months. This is a very well-constructed Private Selection, with a finely crafted mid-palate and elegance, yet good depth and quite a bit of persistence on the finish. A typical issue is often the integration of oak. That seems to have been getting better, although in the wine’s youth the oak is too obvious on opening. It still came together rather well. It showed fine acidity underneath, a little of that Semillon steel and grip on the finish, as the oak continued to integrate. I think this can age a bit. It should continue to improve and continue to integrate the oak to a degree. I liked it better and better as it aired out. Much to its credit, it drank beautifully at 60F and kept getting better in the glass for an hour. It may actually be better in the Summer of 2014. Drink now-2019. "
