Adding to their seasonal selection of cheese, Cowgirl Creamery has created Devil's Gulch. Following the same style as the St. Pat and Pierce Point, Devil's Gulch is made from milk from the nearby Strauss Family, but differs in that it is topped with a blend of dried peppers grown in the Devil's Gulch area. Creamy and earthy at first, the woody, almost smoky flavor from the peppers develops on the finish without becoming overwhelming or spicy. Though not a triple cream, Devil's Gulch has a texture that rivals most. This cheese won third place in the flavored cheese with peppers category at the 2010 American Cheese Society Competition.
