"Deep, almost opaque ruby. The nose offers a compelling mix of pure, ripe dark plum and blackberry, complemented by a delicate licorice spiciness. Sweet, lush and broad on the palate, with captivating nuances of ripe dark fruits, leather, chocolate, earth and minerals. Shows just the slightest hint of alcoholic warmth on the long, suave finish, but this is a very well-balanced example of what could be achieved in the extra-hot 2003 vintage."
