"This is more obviously Carneros in character than any of the subsequent wines as the vegetal quality of the red pinot fruit is more obvious if not dominant and is also reflected on the detailed, focused and dusty flavors that are underpinned by dry and slightly austere finish. There is a touch of asperity but the proper food buffers it well and again, for the production volume and price, this is actually reasonably attractive if not truly distinguished."
