"Jerome Bertrand's grandfather was the pioneering independent bottler in curiously bifurcated Fitou (half facing the sea, half detached, mountainous and geologically distinct), an appellation still dominated by two of France's largest (and quite quality-oriented) coops. Alcohol? Oh yes, they-re all high in that department ... I had forgotten to look until you asked, since no heat intrudes on the finish of any of these young Bertrand-Berge wines.
