"In St. Aubin, the vineyard En Remilly has 8 year old vines. The vineyard is effectively a continuation at the 275 meter mark of the slope which contains the Grand Cru vineyard 'Le Montrachet'. The elevation is quite steep and the parcel is very well exposed South-South East. This is fairly important since the issue of ripeness is often considered a problem in those vineyards higher up the slope. The soil is stony and poor, with obvious crushed limestone at the surface. Beneath is a band of limestone and hard bedrock. These 'white soils' provide for sappy, lithe and fairly full wines with considerable depth. " -Importer
