"Belonging previously to well-known families, the Count de Lahens, then Mr. Vibert and finally the duke del Infantado, chateau Larose-Trintaudon has been the property of Assurances Generales de France since 1986. The estate also includes the vineyards of chateau Larose-Perganson and together the 185 hectares include 172 of vines with 140 hectares in one piece.This vineyard stretches across magnificent gravel crests next door to chateaux Lagrange, La Tour Carnet and Lynch-Bages as well as the communes of Pauillac and Saint-Julien-Beychevelle. Only the traditional Medoc grapes are used to make the wines which thoroughly justify their excellent long-standing renown and which have been awarded several Gold and Silver Medals, in particular at the Bordeaux Exhibition in 1882, the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1889, the Exhibition in Amsterdam in 1884, etc. In more recent times, Larose-Trintaudon underwent rejuvenation: grape re-planting on the advice of Professor Peynaud and the INAO: the winemaking facilities refitted and the chateau renovated in the flamboyant bourgeois style. Everything has been done to make it a model winemaking estate. The quality of the wines today enjoy an enviable worldwide reputation.
