This impressive effort is the first release of Larkmead's second label. Consisting of 73% Cabernet Sauvignon and 27% Syrah, this rich, densely packed, but very well balanced red offers up ripe black cherry, red raspberry, red and black currants, creme de cassis, smoke, bell pepper and just a hint of black pepper on the finish from the Syrah. Drinkable now, but should easily last another 7 to 10 years.
