"Casa Silva is producing some of the best Carmenere in Chile. In addition to the bargain-priced Reserva, the 2005 Carmenere Los Lingues Estate is also a notable value. Eighty percent of the wine was aged for 10 months in French oak, the balance in stainless steel. Purple-colored, the wine delivers a superb aromatic array of black and blue fruits, cinnamon, mocha, and clove. This is followed by a juicy, ripe, layered, supple wine with enough structure to support several years of cellaring. This hedonistic effort can be enjoyed now and over the next 10-12 years."
