"Collelceto is located on the western part of the Brunello zone. From six hectares of vines proprietor Ezio Palazzesi produces a Rosso, as well as this outstanding Brunello which blends elements of traditional and modern styles. Collelceto's 2001 Brunello di Montalcino offers attractive suggestions of tobacco, scorched earth, cherries and minerals on a structured frame with outstanding length as well as definition on the palate and a long, finessed finish. Made in a style that is at once delicate yet generous, this medium to full-bodied effort will require a few years in the cellar to be at its best and should drink well to age twenty. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2021."
