    Pretty Sally Cabernet/ Shiraz 2004
"Bright ruby. Youthful, focused nose offers cherry, redcurrant, rhubarb and candied licorice. Firm, juicy and complex, offering a striking blend of red and dark berry fruits accented by bitter chocolate and minerals. Finishes with very good length and sweetness."

    Cortese Barbaresco Rabaja 2001

"The cask-aged 2001 Barbaresco Rabaja is very spiced on the nose, with a balsamic character that gradually reveals itself as the wine sits in the glass. Though somewhat shut down today, it displays plenty of dark fruit and outstanding structure, with a gorgeous note of menthol on the fresh finish. It will require at least a few years of bottle aging prior to offering its best drinking. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2016." - Antonio Galloni - Robert Parker`s The Wine Advocate.

"Aroma of tar and roses; dark fruit on the palate, with a long, drying finish; already poised, should improve with age. Drink 2006-20" - Decanter - 4 Stars

Thorn Clarke Terra Barossa Shiraz 2006
"The best of the reds is the value priced 2006 Shiraz 'Terra Barossa'. Opaque purple, it has an enticing spicy perfume of blueberry and blackberry that jump from the glass. Plush and ripe, it tastes like Shiraz selling for three times the price. It has outstanding depth and length and, best of all, it can be enjoyed now."

    Cabreo Toscana Il Borgo 2001

    Cabreo Toscana Il Borgo 2001
"Plenty of blackberry and cherry character, with a hint of coffee. Medium- to full-bodied, with chewy tannins and a rich finish. Well-done. Big, rich and racy. Give it time. Best after 2007. 7,500 cases made. - JS" - 91 Points - Wine Spectator

"Tenute del Cabreo belongs to Ambrogio and Giovanni Folonari, formerly active in the family firm of Ruffino but now out on their own. The 2001 Cabreo il Borgo, a Sangiovese with Cabernet, shows a new finesse in the integration of the two grapes with its fragrant and elegant aromas of red currants and black currants, spicy oak, and violets, its ample and polished palate, and the lingering, well-sustained finish. It will drink well for another decade." - 91 Points - The Wine Advocate

"A very subtle white. Flavors of cream, light honey, lilac and apple follow through to a full-bodied palate, with a rich, powerful structure and a long, flavorful finish. Gorgeous. Best after 2007. 1,500 cases made. -JS"

    Turkey Flat Shiraz 2005
"Cut from the same mold as the 2004, the spectacular 2005 Shiraz exhibits an inkier purple color as well as a deeper, richer, more nuanced style. Cropped at .8 tons of fruit per acre, which no doubt accounts for its awesome concentration, it is even better than the 2004, and should be longer lived, evolving for 15 or more years."

"Scents of white peach and smoky less fill this smooth Albarino. It has a gentle ripeness and saline length, an oceanic white for crab."

Clot De L'oum Compagnie Cotes Du Roussillon 2005
"Eric Monne assembled his many, geologically-diverse parcels of old vines as well as promising unplanted plots during the 1990s, and from them crafts three cuvees (all raised in barriques, but of differing ages), the most approachable of which is his 2005 Cotes du Roussillon Villages Compagnie des Papillons from old Carignan and Grenache vines planted largely on gneiss. With bitter-sweet cassis, wet stone, licorice, lead pencil, game, and alluring floral elements emerging on the nose (these wines perpetually need to 'breathe') it offers a plush, refined palate with no superficial sweetness but impressively layered with black fruits, minerals, herbs and meat. Infectiously juicy throughout, it nevertheless finishes in anything but simple fashion, with impressive salt, stone and graphite minerality, subtly sweet cassis and blackberry fruit, and deep meatiness. (The 2004 is equally fine and perfect for current consumption.)"

    Altos De Luzon Jumilla 2005
"50% Monastrell and 25% each of Cabernet Sauvignon and Tempranillo. Dark red. Suave, oak-spiced cherry and cassis on the nose, with a gentle vanilla undertone. Sweet dark fruit flavors are round and supple, with soft tannins building on the back. Picks up a spicy quality on the long, juicy finish. The fruit and oak work very well together."

    Panarroz Jumilla Red 2006
"An amazing bargain from Spain, this blend of mourvedre, grenache, and syrah bursts with plum, blackberry, and licorice-infused fruit. There is a bit of pepper as well, and the wine is silky, soft, and opulent. Serve it at a barbecue." -Please note, this is from Robert Parker's article in Business Week.

    Clos Du Prieur 2005

    Clos Du Prieur 2005
"Orliac's 2005 Coteaux du Languedoc Clos du Prieur - a 50:50 Grenache:Syrah blend grown just outside the Pic Saint-Loup appellation in St.-Jean de Bueges and raised in barriques - smells of plum paste, clove, black pepper and resin. Juicy and intensely-fruited yet (like his tank wine) firm in underlying structure and not at all superficially sweet, it clings beautifully with resinous herbs and exotic, wide-ranging spices. I wouldn't hesitate to follow it 2-3 more years in bottle."
