Wine Library's Top 5 Wines of The Year

Every year our Wines of the Year create quite a stir. We've mapped out this year's schedule, so check the dates below and mark your calendar... these are the wines no wine lover will want to miss! Make sure you are subscribed to Wine Library Daily and be among the first to know. If you aren't familiar with this annual series of announcements, we use the following criteria to calculate the standings:
ISSS (Initial Shipment Selling Speed). As most of you know, our daily service has become very large over the last few years and as a result, many of the hottest wines of the year sell out in a matter of hours... some in less than an hour. In fact, many of the hottest wines start to sell before we even promote them once they hit our "This Just In" section. The faster the wine sells out, the more points the wine earns in this category.
CRIL (Customer Request Inquiry Levels). Hundreds of thousands of you log on to winelibrary.com each and every month and many of you make online requests searching for your favorite wines. More than likely, you saw the wine on winelibrary.com or on our e-mail one day and the next day it was gone. Requests are sent in by consumers to try and obtain additional quantities of the wine. Others send requests based on highly rated wines they read about in major publications. Our wine consultants also field requests on a daily basis in our retail store. All of these requests factor into the standings.
RPR (Return Purchase Ratio). We calculate the percentage of return purchases for an item after people have tried it. Repeat purchases are a powerful indicator of wine approval, and wines that are purchased again and again by the same customers get a big boost in this category.
Chat room buzz. There are several outstanding wine chat rooms online right now and wine lovers from coast to coast talk openly about their favorite wine or wines currently on the marketplace. These comments are taken into consideration when our wines are chosen!
Overall Hype. Take all of the above and combine it together and you get our "Overall Hype" rating. This is a true indication of just how hot the wine is with our wine lovers!
